Impact Cleaning Services has structured itself so that many cleaners are only employed if they become subcontractors or agree to work for one.
Several allegations and charges have been made that cleaners working for subcontractors receive no vacation pay, no EI, no CPP, no WSIB coverage and in some places receive less than minimum wage.
Steve has had to sue Impact Cleaning to try to recuperate over $20,000 in unpaid overtime owed to him. Impact has admitted it didn’t pay him overtime but won’t pay the full amount.
Eugenia worked for Impact. She quit after being told to clean office desks with a rag that had been used to clean toilets. It took her eight months to get her back pay from the company.
Naser was fired without notice afterfive years of service. He worked 55 hours over 7 days every week. He was never paid overtime, vacation pay nor any holiday pay. He has filed an ESA complaint asking for over $16,000 in money owed.

Janar worked for one of Impact’s main sub-contractors. He was fired by Impact for no reason. Now he is owed over $3,000 by the subcontractor who refuses to return his calls.
